  • Analyze borrowers' financial statements to determine past performance and draw conclusions about likely future performance. Reports allow banks to effectively manage change in each individual borrowing relationship and the overall bank commercial loan portfolio.
  • Improved the Loan Review process by creating a spreadsheet for the department that details how to analyze financial statements in a standardized way.

KEY COURSE WORK 

  • May - June 2007 International Process Consulting (Consortium of International MBAs; Asolo, Italy): Served as project manager for a team of five that used Six Sigma tools to design a more efficient new business development process for an Italian paper company, Favini. Implementation of proposed improvements would translate into a $152,000 annual revenue increase for the company.
  • August - December 2005 Strategic Campaigns (Capstone Project): Developed a strategic communications campaign to promote awareness of Whole Foods Market's partnership with Costa Rican-based EARTH University on initiatives to support education, entrepreneurship and sustainable development in the tropics.
  • May - June 2004 University of Missouri Study Abroad (San Jose and Monteverde, Costa Rica): Studied advanced Spanish at the Costa Rican Language Academy in San Jose; studied Spanish and sustainable development at the Monteverde Institute. Also consulted with the Santa Elena Coffee Cooperative to assess the cooperative's relationship with the community and propose improvements.

ACTIVITIES AND AWARDS 

  • January 2009 - Present Treasurer, Heart of Missouri CASA (Columbia, MO): Keep financial records for the organization and use information to develop strategy for the future of the organization. Helped coordinate the non-profit's first annual speed dating fundraiser by building the event web site, organizing registration and payment information and acting as the organization's main contact for participants both before and after the event.
  • December 2007 Winner; $5000 Eldridge Award in the Show-Me Business Plan Competition: Created a strategic business plan with a team to launch a new cancer-detection system developed by a university researcher.
  • March 2008 Divisional Runner Up; Center for Economic Development, Innovation and Commercialization New Venture Championship: The winner of the Eldridge Award (above) attends this competition judged by experienced venture capitalists. Three angel investment groups and venture capital firms plan on funding the venture, VeraPulse, based on the group's plan.
